Мыло. Это слово встречается в нескольких английских выражениях. Русские, благодаря телесериалу «Богатые тоже плачут» и другим, хорошо знают, что soap или soap opera означает «мыльная опера». A soap box orator/ speaker — уличный оратор, стоящий на деревянном ящике, в котором когда-то находились куски мыла. Soft soap — лесть, комплименты. To soft soap someone — льстить кому-либо. Выражение русских болельщиков «Судью на мыло!», адресованное арбитру, переводится как 'Come off it, ref!'. Русское выражение «влезть без мыла» не имеет аналога со словом soap. Можно сказать просто to be very pushy, to stop at nothing to get one's way, т. е. не останавливаться ни перед чем, чтобы добиться своего, быть очень напористым. -
